Wieslawa Gutek (née Chrzatowski)
January 28, 1927 - April 26, 2024

Wieslawa Gutek (née Chrzatowski) was born in Grodzizki, Poland on January 28, 1927. She later came to Canada to visit her cousin and met Stanley Gutek. They were married in Fosston, SK, on November 10, 1973, and made their home on a farm nearby. Together they farmed and Wieslawa loved to garden and tend to her flowers. When they retired from farming, Wieslawa and Stanley moved into Humboldt, Sk. Wieslawa and Stanley went on quite a few bus tours over the years, and they even returned to Poland for a visit. A person never went away hungry from Wieslawa’s home as she always made sure to prepare a lunch for you during your visit. Her faith was a big part of her life, and she was a devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church. After Stanley passed away in June of 2004, Wieslawa remained in her home for a short time and then moved into Caleb Village Retirement Community. When she was no longer able to care for herself, she moved to St. Mary’s Villa where she passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at St. Mary’s Villa for their love and care to Wieslawa during her stay. The Funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 3, 2024 - 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, SK, celebrated by Fr. Colin Roy. Others taking part were: Cheryle Gutek, crossbearer; Tom Gutek and Micheal Gutek, scripture readers; and Cheryl Gutek, intentions. Music Ministry was provided by the St. Augustine Funeral Choir and Carol Esler, pianist; directed by Loretta Schugmann. Pall bearers were Jeffery Gutek, Allan Gutek, David Billash, Tom Gutek, Micheal Gutek, and Mitch Staszcrak; and honorary pallbearers were “All those who shared in Wieslawa life”, with and honor guard formed by the Catholic Women’s Legue. Interment took place at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial luncheon followed at the St. Augustine Parish Hall.
