With Growing Forward 2 set to expire in 2018, there’s a lot of discussion around what Canada’s next agricultural policy framework should look like.

It’s an issue the Canadian Federation of Agriculture has been looking at.

Ron Bonnet, President of the C-F-A, says they’ve released a report which focuses on the Next Agriculture Policy Framework and Positioning Canadian Agriculture for success.

The report touches on a wide variety of areas from climate change adaptation and mitigation to developing a national food policy and promoting Canadian interests to investing in Agricultural Research, and the Value Added Agri-Food sector, focusing on improving Canada’s rural infrastructure

The report also talks about  looking at the Business Risk Management programs and if they are meeting producer needs.
