The Government of Saskatchewan announced Monday that entries are now open for the 2017 Saskatchewan Agriculture Student Scholarship.

Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart announced that this year's theme is 'Our Food has a Story', which is designed to get young people thinking about the relationship between agriculture and the food they eat.

"The scholarship program is an opportunity for us to identify young agricultural leaders to help build public trust in our industry," noted Stewart.

Interested students can apply by submitting a creative three minute video or a 1,000 word essay based on topics surrounding their food story.

One winning scholarship will be awarded for $4,000, with three runner-up scholarships of $2,000 being handed out.

The scholarship is open for students in Grade 12 as well as recent graduates within the past two years.
