The month of March is Rural Women's Month in Saskatchewan.

Today we shine the spotlight on a well-known woman in the Agriculture and Cattle sector, Anne Wasko.

She a cattle market analyst for the past 35 years has her own successful business Cattle Trends and enjoys participating in mentorship programs.

"Back in my day we didn't really have official mentors but I certainly picked some along the way that were great mentors for me and helped me get through any bumps along the way. I've been very, very lucky and have those mentors to thank over the years and so that's why I love giving back."

She says the best advice she ever received and would pass on to others is to keep your eyes wide open, be patient and aware of what's really happening in the industry.

"The industry has it's challenges from the sheer fact that there's so many things that impact our business whether it's outside markets, Mother Nature, foreign animal diseases, all those things I think have have been the surprises or the shockers for the industry and therefore the market and then therefore me but its been a great business."

Wasko, along with her husband Barry operate Bar 4 Bar Ranches in Eastend where they run a commercial Red Angus and grasser operation.
