The latest in farm equipment technology was on display outdoors at Ag In Motion this week at Langham.

CleanSeed Capital's new CX-6 Smart Seeder actually opened this year's show with a ceremonial cutting of the soil on Tuesday. The seeder is different from conventional air seeders in that it sends the seed to electronic metering systems that are gravity-fed, so the seed drops instantly.

Graeme Lempriere, CleanSeed's President and CEO, calls it a high-resolution seeding technology.

"That gives the farmer the ability to unleash his agronomy, because we can micro-manage up to six products on every single foot of the field. I like to call it the world's largest printer," he said.

Lempriere says Ag In Motion is the first demonstration of the new equipment, and adds early trials have been going great.
