The Canadian Grain Commission is looking for farmers to take part in the annual Harvest Sample Survey.

It’s a voluntary program that allows producers to submit harvest samples for analysis.

Saskatchewan’s Cereal Crop Specialist, Mitchell Japp says the C-G-C analyze the samples to get a sense of the quality profile of the Canadian crop.

"Although it's not an official grade that the grain commission gives for the harvest sample program, they do give you an idea of what you're looking at in your crop."

Japp added that farmers submit a sample in the specified envelope the Commission provides,"It's helpful to the producers and it's helpful also to the grain commission cause they get a good assessment of what the overall quality is like in the crop and that helps with the marketing and outreach programming that they do."

Farmers have until November 1st to submit a sample.
