Police in Saskatchewan are urging farmers not to take the law into their own hands.

A crime spree in rural Saskatchewan has resulted in farmers posting photos on social media of firearms in their trucks and farm equipment.

Golden West spoke to farmers and received a variety of opinions on the matter.

"If you know how to use it and are safe with it, I don't think it's a problem. I think it's a good thing to have one the way things are going right now," one farmer said.

Others disagree with carrying firearms:

"It's not worth carrying guns just for a couple of isolated incidents. We have a justice system - the Police can look after those people," another said.

Some farmers say they just want individuals to know not to mess with them.

It was on Monday that three masked men with weapons allegedly tried to hold up a farm worker near Fiske.
