The East Central 18U AAA Red Sox went to work on Sunday to keep their winning ways rolling in a double-header against the Regina Athletics. The back-to-back games went on a cloudy afternoon at James Korte Field in Muenster.

The Sox took game one thanks to a walk off single by Cam Marshak in the bottom of the seventh to drive in the game winner in a 6-5 nail bitter. The teams went head-to-head in the first three innings, settling on a 3-all tie that would be maintained until the top of the sixth when an Athletics single broke the stalemate. It came down to Marshak’s critical single to tip the scales in favour of the Red Sox.

It was a different scenario in the second game when the bats came alive for the Red Sox, driving them to a decisive 18-8 win. The Sox notched a big third inning with seven runs off the bats of Kacen Hyra, Marshak, Cade Armstrong and Jayden Sparks.

The wheels came off a bit for the Sox when they coughed up 6 runs in the fourth, but the Sox collected an impressive 15 hits throughout the game.

Adam Korte took the win on the mound for the Sox. They'll be on the road this Wednesday to Martensville for a double against the Sask 5 Giants.
