It was a hard-fought comeback last night for the East Central 18Uaaa Red Sox, but they mounted a late game charge to overcome the Sask Five Giants at James Korte Field.
Teams collected 10 hits each in the hard-hitting affair. The Giants took an early lead off a Jace Daku single to score the opener. They followed up with another pair in the second inning to open the gap.
The Red Sox went to work in the bottom of the third, taking advantage of an error on a Joel Bauml single to score Cam Marshak. Adam Korte stretched a single to a double, scoring Bauml, and Jordan Sparks drove in a pair to cap a four-run inning.
Again the Giants wrestled the lead away, but another four-run effort in the bottom of the fifth sealed the deal for the Sox. Carter Dosch got the win on the mound.
Next action for the team is Friday as they venture to Saskatoon for a late day matchup with the Cubs.
