Earlier on this week, the Watrous Kinsmen Club donated $500 towards the Breakfast for Learning Program at Winston High.

The Breakfast for Learning Program takes place every morning at Winston High School in Watrous. For the last 8 years, students have been able to help themselves to a free breakfast each morning to help them get through the day.

"It's been really good for our athletes who have morning practices. They don't have very much time to go home and grab breakfast, so this has been a great addition to our school," said Tina Edwards, a teacher at Winston High School.

At the end of every school year, Winston High looks for donations to help the program move forward for next year. The $500 will go towards food expenses in the 2019-2020 school year.

"We definitely couldn't do it without donations so we really appreciate it and I know the students do as well. We also have parents that donate breakfast burritos and muffins, so it really does take a lot of people, a lot of effort, and a lot of money," said Edwards.

The hope is to have other local businesses in Watrous contribute to the program so it can be successful again next school year.
