Lunch time music lovers braved the wind and the smatterings of rain for the first downtown barbecue on Thursday, presented by the Humboldt and District Museum in aid of the Historic Water Tower.

The cooks nestled behind the Museum, seeking shelter from the ‘storm,” but they kept cranking out delicious burgers.

Lady Friday, the musical duo of Katie Nichol and Jodie Hergott, entertained those hardy souls on 6th Avenue. Classics like Stevie Nicks’ “Landslide” and the Cheers theme “Where Everybody Knows Your Name,” an anthem truly befitting Humboldt, warmed the spirits.

Those less hardened to the elements gathered at table set out inside the Museum. It’s proof that no manner of weather can throw a damper on a good time in Humboldt.
