The curtain came down on the Humboldt Broncos season last night.

In spite of a valiant effort all game, the Broncos fell to the Flin Flon Bombers in a 1 - 0 heartbreaker. The lone goal came at 14:16 of the first period as Bombers Jacob Vockler scored a power play goal following a cross checking penalty to Broncos captain Kade Olsen.

There were plenty of opportunities at both ends in a free wheeling game where the Broncos controlled much of the centre ice action. Several spirited exchanges led to a few more penalties, but in spite of strong set up in the third period, the Broncos were unable to capitalize. Once again, the Broncos outshot the Bombers, this time 37 to 29, but hats off to both goalies, Bombers Cal Schell and Broncos Rayce Ramsay for a spirited and well matched series.

The Bombers go on to face the Estevan Bruins in the league final.
