As regular seasons begin to gear down in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League, the action is heating up.

It was a tight set of games for the East Central 18U AAA Red Sox on Sunday as they faced the Regina Athletics in a double header going into the home stretch of league play.

In game one, it was all tied up after 4 innings, but Marek Yeager, Carter Dosch and
Bronson Paetch came through with singles in the 5th to launch the Sox to a narrow 7-6 victory.
In game 2, the Red Sox were on the losing end of a 6-5 score in another tightly matched game. With the game tied at 2 apiece afer, the Red Sox showed solid in the top of the extra eighth with runs scored by Yeager, Joel Bauml and Cooper Isherwood. In the bottom of 8, the Athletics kept pace, and a walk off single by Ethan Merk of the Athletics sealed the deal.
The Sox finish the regular season at 21-9 and await the outcomes of this week's final league games to determine their seeding for this weekend's provincials.

In 18U AA Action, the Muenster Red Sox played a total of four games, picking up one against the Moose Jaw Canucks with an 11-4 victory. They followed up with a tilt against the Assiniboia Aces and fell to a strong offense 14-6.
Then it was a pair against the Swift Current 57s in a couple of high scoring affairs. The 57s took the first game 16-15 in a slug fest and followed up with another strong offensive showing for both teams ending in a 16-13 win for the Swift Current squad.
The final league game for the AA Red Sox goes this Saturday against the Lumsden Cubs, a match scheduled in North Battleford.
