An armed robbery in the town of Gronlid is under investigation by the RCMP.

The Melfort detachment was called to a financial institution on Center Street in the town on Tuesday afternoon shortly after 3pm.

The early stages of investigation show a lone male entered the institution wearing all black and demanded money from employees where he made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

He was seen leaving the town in a smaller to mid-size black four door sedan. 

The suspect is described as weighing 160 pounds, 6 foot 3 inches with a slim build and fair skin. He made attempts to hide his face with his clothing.

There were no injuries due to the incident that continues to be investigated.

The Melfort RCMP is being assisted by the Nipawin and Tisdale detachments, Prince Albert Dog Servoices and Tisdale Forensic Identification Section.
