Arne Shadbolt
March 10, 1957 – November 1, 2022

It is with profound sadness that the family of Arne Shadbolt announces his passing on November 1, 2022 at the age of 65. He passed peacefully surrounded by his immediate family after a short, brave battle with cancer. Arne Emmerton Shadbolt was born on March 10, 1957 in Outlook, SK to Frank “Bud” and Helen (nee Pearson) Shadbolt. Arne grew up in Swan River, MB, graduating from Swan Valley Regional Secondary School in 1975. On July 9, 1983 Arne married Irene Beaudry in Swan River, MB. He spent 42 years working for Richardson Pioneer as a travelling maintenance and repair person. In 2007, he was able to settle at the Dixon location near Humboldt. Arne loved bird watching and going for drives in the country. Annually he would head up north with his best friend Gordon Hultgreen on a canoe trip. He used his green thumb to tend to his plants and yard. He had an artistic side, creating many beautiful paintings and putting together army models. He participated in league bowling at Kemway Lanes for over 30 years. He was a devoted Boston Bruins fan, cheering them on whenever they were playing. Arne and Irene enjoyed doing puzzles or playing crib in the evenings. His favorite times were spent with his two daughters, Ashley and Amanda and grandson Jackson. Arne was a kind, hard-working, loyal, gentle man with a big heart. He developed many close friendships over the years and those friends became family to him. He lived a simple life, but a beautiful life! Arne will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Irene Shadbolt; daughter Ashley Shadbolt (Sebastiaan de Boer); daughter Amanda (Jesse) Strueby; grandson Jackson Strueby; siblings: Elizabeth Peden, Lynne Fraser, Frank (Maggie) Shadbolt, Glenn (Doreen) Shadbolt; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents Bud and Helen Shadbolt and parents-in-law Rudolph and Laurence Beaudry. A Gathering of Family and Friends was held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., with a short service at 2:30 p.m. at Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home & Crematorium, Humboldt.
