The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Humboldt have been keeping busy these last few weeks with their Christmas campaign.

“Our Christmas Campaign kicked off on Giving Tuesday; it’s called ‘Give a Little Sparkle’. It will continue until the end of the year,” said Tammy Ruedig, Fundraising and Program Support for Big Brothers Big Sisters Humboldt.

Throughout November, the organization partnered with Co-op to take donations at the till and has partnered with a few more businesses.

“The next couple weeks going forward here, we have some companies on board doing match sponsorship. We have Weber & Gasper and Pure Essence. They are trying to double the impact and make a bigger impact for our youth.”

Ruedig says after the Christmas campaign, the next big event they are planning is the annual Bowl for Kids sake. The date is set for February 6 - 12 at Kemway Lanes.

“Or you can bowl virtually from anywhere. From the Office, hopefully, have some students on board bowling from their schools, or just from the comfort of your own home.”

While Bowl for Kids Sake is a fundraising event, it also raises awareness about mentorship and how it impacts a child's life.

“Currently we have 21 kids on the waitlist, and I’m hoping you give them the gift of presence this holiday season. If you could make it your new year's resolution to make a difference in a child's life in our community, that would be greatly appreciated.”
