You know it's going to be fast paced, hard hitting hockey when the Flin Flon Bombers are in town, and such was the case last night at the Uniplex as the Humboldt Broncos earned a hard fought 3-1 win.

The game opened with plenty of neutral zone scrimmaging and end to end dashes. The Bombers leaned into their size and speed while the Broncos made use of the effective long passes in the opening round. Near the midway point of period one, Maddox Amaral scored a microsecond before the Bombers net popped off in a heart-stopping photo finish. Assists came from Matthew van Blaricom and Boris Kofman.

There was plenty of end-to-end action throughout the second until Travis Bryson took a beautiful feed from Spencer Bell on a power play and patiently drew Bombers netminder Harmon Laser-Hume out on a fake to sift one past him.

A last-minute penalty in the second gave the Bombers a power play in the opening of the third, and Bomber Jacob Vockler took advantage to draw within one.

Both Laser Hume and Benjamin Motew put on a show in net for the remainder of the game until Maddox Amaral sealed up the win with an empty netter.

The Broncos are back on the ice tomorrow night for the Emergency Responders Appreciation Game at the EPA against the La Ronge Ice Wolves.

The action is ramping up to play off pitch, so don't miss this one. Play call on 107.5 Bolt FM.
