The Humboldt Broncos closed out 2022 with a win and a strong showing against the Weyburn Red Wings on Saturday night.
The Broncos skated away with a 3-0 win.  That followed a Friday afternoon matinee in Kindersley where the Horsemen came away with a 5-2 victory.
On Friday, Ben Kotylak wasted no time opening the scoring in the first minute. Kindersley responded, but Maddox Amaral and Daylan Weigel gave the Broncos are 3-1 lead after the first. Amaral scored again in the third to seal the win.
On Saturday, it was all Broncos with a goal in each period for the shutout.
Connor Casparie, Jacob Boucher and Matthew van Blaricom all posted for the Broncos. Things got testy in the third with the penalty minutes racking up, but Benjamin Motew looked solid in net turning away 24 shots.
The Broncos earned a well-deserved holiday break. They're back on the road on January 6 and on home ice January 12, both against the Flin Flon Bombers.
