The Humboldt Broncos faced challenges with a pair of opponents this weekend.

The Broncos fell in a tight horse race with the visiting Melfort Mustangs on Saturday night. After a scoreless first, Melfort jumped out to an  two goal lead thanks to Tye Evans and Leith Olafson,

but Alec Satrtzky took advantage of a late second period power play to narrow the margin to one. The lone third period goal came midway through the third when Ben Kotylak sent one home to tie the game. It took only 1:45 of overtime to decide this one in favour of the Mustangs.

On Grey Cup Sunday, Flin Flon notched a decisive four one win over the Broncos. Humboldt's lone goal came on a power play effort by Xavier Roy. Cole Duperreault notched a hat trick for the Bombers, while Cory King supplied the other Bombers goal.
