It was a tough weekend on the road for the Humboldt Broncos as their flu-riddled ranks took it on the chin from both the Estevan Bruins and the Weyburn Red Wings.

The Bruins jumped out to an early lead on Thursday and kept the pressure on the Broncos.

netted four goals in the first on their way to a 6-1 win. Broncos goaltending Tristan Boileau made an exit after the first period, and the Bronco limited the scoring for the remainder of the game, but struggled to gain any real traction

The Broncos found their offense on Friday in Weyburn, but came up just shy in a 5-4 final against the Red Wings. Weyburn opened up with a pair in the first, but the Broncos kept in close in the second thanks to Connor Miller with his first SJHL goal and Carsten Kayter on the power play. Jacob Boucher and Ethan Zielke made their presence known with goals in the final frame, but the Broncos fell just short.

The Broncos woes continued on Saturday as they faced another Estevan shut out, this time 5-0. The Broncos had to call in reinforcements from the 18U AAA squad with 16 year old Coonor Miller and 15 year old Teigan Semchyshen lacing up.

The Broncos will try to get healthy and right the ship on Wednesday when the Notre Dame Hounds come to town. Game time is 7:30, as as always, the play call is on 107.5 BoltFM.
