The special teams were firing on all cylinders last night as the Humboldt Broncos downed the Weyburn Red Wings 6-3 at the EPA last night.

A cross checking penalty to the Red Wings led to the first power play goal for the Broncos. Alec Saretsky, with the assist from Cage Newans and Carsten Kayter, connected late in the first to give the Horsemen a 1-0 lead.

Weyburn tied it up deep into the second frame, but late in the period, Ethan Zielke came up with a great shorthanded effort to score with assists from Lucas Ceccarelli and Quinn Myles.

Then it was a busy third with a second short hander by Zielke to kick things off. Noah Barlage scored twice, once on the power play. Weyburn started to claw their way back with goals by Ty Mason and Jordan Edwards, but Ben Kotylak put away a last minute empty nester off a feed from Quinn Myles to finish this one off.

The Broncos have a home and home with Yorkton this weekend for their final regular season home game on Saturday night. Don’t miss it down at the EPA and catch the call at 7:30 on 107.5 Bolt FM.
