The Humboldt Broncos played the comeback kids, rallying from a three goal deficit in Wilcox last night to post a great 5-4 come from behind win against the Notre Dame Hounds.

The Hounds surged in the opening two periods taking a three goal lead. In the opening minutes of the second, Jared Picklyk got the nod in net and the Broncos started the march back with a goal by Jacob Boucher.

Kyle Kalamaras re-established the three goal lead for the Hounds, but the last half of the second belonged to the Broncos as Cage Newans started the run with help from Noah Barlage and Jacob Boucher. Daylan Wiegel followed up, supported by Maddox Amaral, and then Amaral, assisted by Tristan Serrao, put one between the pipes.

It was a tense goalie standoff in the third with no scoring to drive the match into OT. But just over a minute into the extra, Noah Barlage with the assist from Matthew Van Blaricom and Lucas Ceccarelli put a thriller in the books for the Broncos.

An exciting home ice double header coming up this weekend with the Estevan Bruins and the Broncos Player/Staff Auction and Shoot Out. It all starts this Friday at the EPA.
