The Humboldt RCMP are investigating a break and enter at the town office in Bruno.

The Mounties issued a news release Tuesday saying the break in occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, February 18th. It could have taken place after 9 o'clock Thursday night as well.

According to administration staff in Bruno the suspect(s) broke into the building and smashed through dry wall in the main front office with the goal to gain access to the safe. The attempt was unsuccessful as the safe is reinforced with iron and a thick wall of concrete.

However, keys to other municipal buildings were stolen and access gained within the buildings. Damage was sustained to certain doors within the municipal buildings but no significant amount of items were stolen.

Damage and replacement costs are in the vicinity of $2,500.
