It was a busy 2020 for the crews that handle line painting on Saskatchewan highways.

The provincial Ministry of Highways reported they exceeded their targets for the year, with nearly 21,000 kilometres of centre lines and over 30,000 kilometres of edge lines painted on Saskatchewan highways. Crews also painted more than 35,000 pavement signs, including arrows, medians, railroad crossings, bridge markers and crosswalks.

The entire endeavour used more than 1.2 million litres of paint.

“Pavement marking is an important part of our government's safety strategy,” Highways Minister Fred Bradshaw said in a written release. “I commend the highways team for its dedication to keeping the roads safe for our citizens.”
