Following on the heels of last year’s success during its Centennial Celebration, LeRoy and District Recreation Board is hosting this year’s edition of its Show and Shine. The car show takes over Aspen Street in LeRoy on June 10, and there’s still time to get your show mobile shined up for entry.

There’s much more happening during the day, says Amy Schreiner, recreation administrator.

“Every year in June, we host a town wide garage sale. It’s an opportunity for people to do their spring cleaning and get rid of stuff. We have them register their garage sale, throw it up on a map so people know where to go through town.”

While visitors trek around town scooping up the bargains, they can also check out the main street for all the autos on display.

Another important element of the day is a trade fair set for the LeRoy Arena. Vendors will be set up on the ice surface with plenty of room for displays. Local storefront and home businesses will be side by side with craft and artisan vendors, homemade treat sellers and much more. Instead of a table fee for vendors, the Rec Board is asking businesses to bring an item to donate to the silent auction. Top it off with a noon hour barbecue, door prizes, and a 50/50 raffle, and residents and visitors have the makings for a great Saturday.

There will also be prizes for the best autos at the show, says Schreiner.

“We would love for everybody to come out. If you have some sort of cool vehicle, bring it out.”

All the excitement starts at 9:00 and goes until 4:00 pm with the draws for prizes happening at 3:00 pm. Come on out and celebrate a wonderful Saturday with the folks in LeRoy.
