The Humboldt and District Hospital Foundation is getting ready to send out Christmas Angel Cards to donors who have supported the Angel appeal in the past.

“We have Christmas Angels within our Christmas greeting cards. There are two angels inside the card; one is for the donor, and one is for the foundation,” says Lorrie Bunko, Executive Director of the Humboldt and District Hospital Foundation.

She says if someone donates to the appeal, either by stopping at the Foundation, mailing in a donation, or donating online, the foundation will hang one angel on their tree and the donor takes home the other angel and hangs it on their tree.

Over 1600 Angels have been sent out to past supporters, says Bunko.

Funds from the Angel appeal go directly to the foundation to support the Humboldt Hospital and purchase much needed equipment.

The Hospital Foundation is raising funds for the following items needed:

  • Laparoscopic Equipment: $93,750.00
  • Complete Blood Count (CBC) Analyzer: $43,750.00
  • Medical Grade Freezer: $14,375.00
  • Chemo/Infusion Syringe Pumps: $17,500.00

The Hospital also recently received a generous donation from SaskTel TelCare on November 23, in part of their annual giving.

The donation received was worth $3,600, and will go towards general equipment needs, says Bunko.
