City Council met on Monday, October 24, and Mayor Behiel proclaimed November 19-27 Multicultural Week within the City of Humboldt.

The City said in a release, “Citizens of Humboldt are encouraged to engage in conversations that focus on our diversity, collective strength, and contributions, as well as our challenges, because respectful relationships and addressing contemporary issues are essential for everyone to be valued for all aspects of their identities.”

The province of Saskatchewan enacted multicultural legislation in order to recognize the diversity of Saskatchewan people with respect to race, cultural heritage, religion, ethnicity, ancestry, and place of origin as fundamental characteristics of Saskatchewan society.
