July 30 is Food Canada Day, a national celebration of Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sectors. Humboldt and area communities are at the heart of all things agriculture with highly diversified crops, its stable of  ag manufacturers, and increasingly, value added processors in organic and specialty foods. As such the City of Humboldt proclaims July 30, 2022 as Food Canada Day in Humboldt. Mayor Michael Behiel signed the proclamation and gave recognition at the Monday, July 25 meeting of City Council.

The proclamation states that Food Day is a time for all Canadians to share their food stories and celebrate food by cooking with Canadian ingredients. Food Day Canada is a grassroots movement that comes to life with thousands of individuals and partners from coast to coast to coast each year. It’s free and inclusive, and meant for all who believe in the vision to engage and inspire everyone to shop, cook and dine Canadian.
