At the upcoming meeting of Humboldt City Council on Monday, March 27, council will entertain a pair of Discretionary Use applications to which the public is invited to respond.

The first is an application by the Humboldt Co-operative Association in regard to its proposed liquor store slated for Westwood Centre. The Co-op had to submit a new application to the City following its decision to locate its retail liquor outlet directly alongside the existing food store. Because the relocation involved a different parcel of land, the Co-op had to submit a second, site-specific application. The building, which will be attached to the food store, will be distinct with its own entrance, says Humboldt Co-op GM Joe Von Doellen.

The second application received is from Prairie Sentinel Craft Ale Works Ltd. to construct a brew pub/distillery proposed for 520 - 9th St. Plans are available for viewing at City Hall during business hours.

The City will conduct a public hearing for anyone wishing to speak to either of the applications. The hearing will be conducted at the regular meeting of City Council beginning at 5:30 pm on Monday, March 27.
