Summer Sizzler is just around the corner with the excitement of the midway, the parade, the ever-popular comic con, and of course music. The traditional kick-off concert to the Summer Sizzler happens on Wednesday evening, June 28 in Civic Park. Enjoy the music of rock trio BBC, featuring some familiar faces in a new configuration. The free one-hour concert starts at 6:45 with a barbecue leading into the performance, says Brian Grest with BBC.

“The band is a bit of a throw together of some local artists,” Grest says, “Cory Barnes, who’s with Tadoma and 66 Aces, myself and my friend Brett Hrynewich. Both of us with 40 Oz Philosophy – we threw together a three-piece last year for one event and we thought we’d do it again this year.”

The band (who has no affiliation with the UK public broadcaster – their moniker comes from their first name initials) performs classic rock with an upbeat focus and some occasional mellower undertones.

Proceeds of the barbecue will go to Arts Humboldt, the non-profit organization that works to provide concerts and support for performing arts. One of their key upcoming projects will be the return of Missoula Children’s Theatre in September. The travelling road troupe gives young performers a chance to get on stage and hone their dramatic and musical chops.

Burgers and a drink are available for $7. Come out, enjoy a free concert and buy a burger for a great cause.
