Arts Humboldt is bringing back some live music with upcoming events and performances set for the summer.

One such event will take place this Saturday, May 28, at the Community Gathering Place.

JJ Voss, a Regina-born country artist and two-time SCMA Male Artist of the year, will be travelling to Humboldt and is looking forward to the concert.

“I’m really stoked to be getting back out to Humboldt. We’ve been trying to do this one now for almost two and a half years, it got rescheduled a couple times because of the pandemic, so it’s been a long time coming.”

Voss had just released an album the week before Saskatchewan went into a lockdown.

“I’ve been chomping at the bit for a long time, wanting to get out onto the road and bring my music to the people.”

Concert goers can expect to hear Voss’s original music, with a few covers here and there, explained the artist.

“I try to keep things light and enjoyable. I basically tell my story, from where I started to the point where I am now.”

Tickets are 25$ each, available at Humboldt Community Gathering Place and Main Street Music & Books or online.  Doors open and cocktails start at 7:00 pm, with Voss taking the stage at 7:30, and Arts Humboldt stating minors must be accompanied by an adult.

This tour will see Voss take the road solo, taking inspiration from other artists such as Steve Earle, John Mellencamp, Tom Petty and many more artists.

“I’m just looking forward to getting back to Humboldt and seeing people; playing music in front of a live audience again.”
