One of the biggest country music festivals around is about to take over Craven.

Country Thunder Saskatchewan is taking place from July 13 to 16. It will be a star-studded lineup with headliners Jon Pardi, Tim McGraw and Keith Urban.

Also performing will be Bailey Zimmerman, Brett Kissel, Jess Moskaluke, Midland, High Valley and Carly Pearce just to name a few.

“We always try and do that really good mix of classic country, new country, up-and-comers, and I remember Eric Church playing at three o’clock in the afternoon,” said Country Thunder’s Kim Blevins.

Gerry Krochuk from Country Thunder said the history and tradition behind the Saskatchewan festival is one of the reasons it's so special.

“This is where it all started. This is the one that we tell all our American friends about,” Krochuk said.

“The history means a lot. They can’t believe that there’s this little place in Saskatchewan that Johnny Cash, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen and Kenny Chesney, they’ve all been there.”

New this year will be the Casino Regina Country Thunder Show Lounge that will include the Sask Music Songwriters Showcase and hypnotist Corrie J.

Parking will also be in a more convenient location this year. The parking lot has been moved from across the highway to on-site.

You will want to make sure you have your tickets for Saturday when Country Thunder is expected to make a major announcement about 2024’s line-up.
