The Cudworth Curling Club is getting set to host a very special guest next weekend.

A social and dance at the Cudworth Community Hall will take place on Friday evening after a very unique opportunity on the pebbled ice that afternoon with Olympic Gold Medalist and four time Brier champion Kevin Martin.

Kyler Broad with the curling club provided the details.

"We're doing an on ice learn to curl clinic with Kevin, he's also bringing his son Karrick with him who's very active on the world curling tour with team Bottcher out of Edmonton so the two of them are going to team up and bring our curling clinic."

The clinic is $30 a person, or $50 gets you the clinic and a ticket to the evening presentation which includes Kevin as the guest speaker followed by the dance.

"Kevin and karrick will be heading down to the Cudworth Community Hall where we have an evening planned where the gentlemen will speak in regards to curling. Karrick will talk about the world curling tour and Kevin later on will speak on his curling career," said Broad.

Many big ticket silent auction items will be up for grabs at the event.

The evening is something the entire community is looking forward to according to Broad, "everybody knows the name of Kevin Martin in curling so to be able to meet him and see him one on one in his presentation I think will just be a great night out."

The dance will feature music by Off the Grid.
