Daphane Germain (née Dale)
August 11, 1946 – February 3, 2023

Daphane (née Dale) Germain was born on August 11th, 1946, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan to Larry and Martha (née Nordick) Dale. She passed away at her residence in Humboldt. She went to school at Englefeld, SK and after completing her Grade 12, she was employed with CIBC in Humboldt, SK. It was during this time that she met and fell in love with a handsome, gentle man, Barry Germain. They had a tight circle of friends that they would visit, enjoying games of Aggravation, and sitting around the campfire. Although not outgoing, she enjoyed these times, and had a great sense of humor. Daphane and Barry were married for 31 years until his untimely death in 2001. Both Barry’s death, and the death of her mother in 2009 had a profound effect on her, and she missed them greatly. Daphane had a great love for animals, especially cats. There were always pets in the house and would leave food out for any strays that would come to her home. She devoted her love and care to them, and they were a source of unwavering companionship and love for her. Although short in stature, she was a woman of strength, courage, and determination, until her health began to fail. She will be remembered by Barry’s family: Lorna Germain (George); Dean Thistle, Patrick and Sandra Fehr; Gerard (Charlene) Germain, Chantelle, Devon, and Nathan and families; Marvin (Barb) Germain and Rachel; Denise Germain; Val and Brad Wudrich, Carlea (Kevin) and family, and Carl. She was predeceased by: her parents, Larry and Martha Dale; parents-in-law, Leo and Eleanor Germain; brother-in-law, Mark Germain, sister-in-law, Marianne Thistle. A private funeral mass was held at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, SK, on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Colin Roy.
