David Anton Bowman
April 27, 1930 – May 5, 2022

The family of David Bowman is sad to announce his passing on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at his residence in Quill Plains Centennial Lodge, Watson, Saskatchewan. He was 92 years of age. Dad was born to Titus Bowman and Constance (née Wingrove) on April 27, 1930. He grew up on the family farm and attended Golden Acre School. In 1952, Dad met his wife Marie Pfeil, at a local dance and they were married on the Pfeil farm on October 27, 1953. He farmed with his Dad and brother, Les, for many years and continued on his own in a mixed farming operation. He carried on his father’s pride in raising beef cattle. Dad served his community on the School Board, the Wheat Pool, and the council of the RM of Viscount for many years. Some of his pastimes included being an avid curler, a dedicated Blue Jays fan, fishing trips, taking bus trips, and volunteering at the Antique Club. He is survived by his loving wife Marie, of 68 years; and his children and their families: Sandra (Karl) Nelson; Karen (Rod) Dale and family Jeffrey (Brenda), Kailey and Zac, Corey (Alyssa), Sawyer, Callie, Hayden, and Harper, Kelsey (Kyle) and Payton; Susan (Jerry) Dopko and Jared (Jessica); +Brenda Kostyniuk, and family Curtis (Nadia), Kyle, and Ashley and Theo; Wayne (Coleen) and family Sheldon (Noel), Kaitlyn, Chantelle, and Dylan; Wendy (Allan) Mueller and family Jordan (Kehli), Max and Marlowe and Joshua (Rebecca); Connie (Rob) Elliott and family Annelle (Mitchell), Blake and Rylan; brother-in-law Lawrence Pfeil; sister-in-law Pat Pfeil; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Brenda, parents Titus and Constance, his five siblings, and their spouses. The Funeral Service was held for David on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, and presided over by Rev. Brenda Curtis. Organist Joan Jackson provided music, members of the family presented the eulogy, and Sheldon Bowman and Dylan Bowman, were urn bearers. “All of David’s Grandchildren,” were noted as honorary pallbearers. Interment followed at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery, in Humboldt, and the memorial luncheon was held in town at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall.
