Game two followed with an all-out onslaught by the Riverdogs to start the game. The East Central crew scored 10 runs in the opening two innings with the Selects responding with a pair in the third. Then the Red Selects picked up steam with solid innings at the plate to make the score 11-8.

Head coach Tara Hofmann talked about the provincial win, a long time coming for the senior players.
“It’s overwhelming. The girls just played fantastic. Our pitching was on, we hit the ball, defensively we all came together. This has been long overdue for a few of the girls, especially our Humboldt ones. They’ve settled for a silver for the last couple of years and it’s great to come out on a win.
The East Central Riverdogs are a regional team composed of U19 players from Humboldt, Muenster, Tisdale and Watrous. All the communities share in the pride of being the provincial champs for 2022.
