Englefeld School has been putting the final touches on its new Winter Festival, set to take place Wednesday, December 21, in the Englefeld School gymnasium.

“We decided that every second year we would do something a little different, and so this year our something different is a Winter Festival,” says Principal Corinne Harcourt.

“We decided that we would let the students do some creative decision-making, and so we have 16 different booths where the students have created games or fun activities for families to do together. They are student-centered and student-created.”

She says families will receive a “passport” of sorts to enter into a raffle after participating in various games.

Raffle Tickets are available for items such as a barn board birdhouse made and donated by Roger Strunk, and a quilt made and donated by Four Friends Quilting Club.  If anyone wishes to donate additional Raffle Prizes, Englefeld School asks that you contact the school at 287-3568.

“There will be a student-led performance for about half an hour. In one way or another, every student is performing in some way.”

It all kicks off at 6:30 pm on Wednesday December 21th. Santa and elves will be in attendance at his workshop booth, and the School Community Council and Student Representative Council will be serving donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to all participants.
