Eva Hatcher
August 26, 1921 – September 15, 2015

Mrs. Eva Millicent (nee Collins) Hatcher of Central Parkland Lodge, Lanigan, SK, passed away peacefully from this life on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Lanigan Hospital, and into the arms of her beloved Lord and Saviour.  She was 94 years of age but still very young at heart.  Eva was born on August 26, 1921, to William and Mary (nee Bradbury) Collins at North Sydney, Cape Breton, NS, where she was raised and educated.  She was the second oldest of five children.  Her father was a coal miner.  In October 1940, Eva married James Hatcher at St. John’s Anglican Church in North Sydney.  They were blessed with two children, Jim and Linda.  In 1952, the family moved to Lethbridge, AB, where they resided until moving to Moose Jaw in 1955.  Three years later, they relocated to Regina.  While living there, Eva was very involved with the women’s group at the Salvation Army Church.  James passed away in 1994.  Eva continued to live in Regina until 2001 when she moved to Lanigan.  She enjoyed her new surroundings and became a dedicated member of LifePoint Church.  Her new church family meant a lot to her, and she will be sorely missed by them.  With the help of family and friends, she was able to remain in her home until this past June when she became a resident of Central Parkland Lodge.  There her loving personality quickly endeared her to staff and residents alike.  Over the years, Eva spent many pleasant hours crocheting doilies.  Eva was a very quiet, warm and caring lady who took genuine interest in anyone she came into contact with.  Of utmost importance to her was her faith.  A dynamic woman of prayer, she lived for the Lord and the love of Jesus shone through her.  Eva will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her two children and six grandchildren:  Jim (Gina) Hatcher of Lanigan and family, Garth, Rick, Chris, Pam and their families; and Linda (Emilio) Lechuga of Mexico City, Mexico, and family, Dianne, Carla and their families; and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her husband, James Hatcher (1994); parents, William and Mary (nee Bradbury) Collins; and by all her siblings.  The Celebration of Eva’s Life was held at LifePoint Pentecostal Church, 40 Baun Street, Lanigan, on Monday, September 21, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., co-officiated by Pastor Kevin Sawatsky and Pastor Randy Paupst.  Others taking part were:  Daniel Sanden, scripture reader; Jordynn MacNeill and Morgynn MacNeill, memorial table attendants.  Music ministry was provided by Brenda Bohman on keyboard and by the trio Kevin and Rachelle Sawatsky and Char Schroeder.  Active Pallbearers were son Jim Hatcher, grandsons Garth Hatcher, Rick Hatcher and Chris Korosi, and great-grandson Ryan MacNeill. Interment followed at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina, SK.  Memorial donations may be directed to LifePoint Church – Missions.
