Evelyn Greve (née Myskiw)
May 28, 1930 – August 10, 2022

Evelyn Dolores Greve was born on May 28, 1930, on a farm near Fir Mountain, Saskatchewan to William and Emily (née Herman) Myskiw. On August 10, 2022 at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK, she passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was 92 years young. At an early age, Evelyn moved from southern Saskatchewan with her parents and siblings to the Attica district near Lanigan, SK. She attended Sydenham school, a country school located about a mile from their farm. On November 5, 1952, she married Elmer Greve. They were blessed with two daughters, Debra and Lori. Evelyn and Elmer lived in Lanigan for most of their lives and then moved to Saskatoon in 2016. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a very talented lady with a hard-work ethic. An excellent seamstress, Evelyn also enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, painting Ukrainian Easter eggs, needlepoint, cake decorating, paper tole and the list goes on! Evelyn and Elmer enjoyed fishing and camping, and persuaded Dennis, Elmer’s brother, to come with them and they spent many summers camping in Waskesiu and McPhee Lakes. Debbie and Al and Lori and her girls would join them and always treasured these family get togethers. Evelyn is survived by her daughters Debra (Allan) Fitch, and Lori Okeson; her granddaughters Jillian (Matt) Voth and Cassandra Riabko; and two precious great-granddaughters, Tessa and Adrianna Voth; in-laws, Allan (Myrtle) Greve, Don (Elaine) Greve, Joyce (Karl) Lenz, and Gerald Mitchenson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Elmer; parents, William and Emily Myskiw; sister Helen (Godfrey) Christoph; brother Eugene (Willa) Myskiw; son-in-law Robert Okeson; father and mother-in-law, Emil and Martha Greve; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lanigan, officiated by Rev. George Hind. Others taking part were pianist Bev Stephan; scripture readers Jillian Voth and Lana Greve; eulogist, Cassandra Riabko; and memorial table attendants, Rod and Lana Greve. The urn bearer was Cassandra Riabko, and “All those who shared in Evelyn’s life,” were noted as honorary pallbearers, with interment following the service in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, in Lanigan. A memorial luncheon was held in the gathering space at Trinity Lutheran Church.
