Sam Fisher, Special Olympics swimmer from Humboldt, is off to a strong start at the Canada Games in Niagara Falls. Sam kicked off her competition on Monday with the 100 metre freestyle at the Brock University-Eleanor Misener Aquatics Centre. In her preliminary heat, Fisher finished third with a time of 1:39.28. That brought her into the final where she finished fourth, just off the podium, with an improved time of 1:36.74. Sam finished fifth in her opening heat of the 50 metre breaststroke. 

Fisher is back in the water this morning for a go at the 100 metre backstroke.
