A big congratulations goes out to the five HCAA teams who came out on top at Regionals this past weekend, and are now bound for Hoopla, the provincial basketball championship, coming up this weekend.

In 1A boys, the Lake Lenore/Annaheim Lancers came through with a big win in their home gym over Kerrobert 69-46. In 2A action, the St. Brieux Crusaders got past Saskatoon Christian 71-65 following their win in St. Brieux.

On the girls side, in the 1A division, the Middle Lake Lenore team downed Coronach 63-46 to earn their berth. And in 3A, both Lanigan and Wynyard emerged from their tournaments to join their counterparts in Prince Albert for provincials. Lanigan scored an 87-48 win over Creighton, while Wynyard emerged victorious over Regina Christian 70-57.

“We’re extremely proud of the accomplishments and especially the dedication of our athletes and coaches,” says Student Activities Administrator for the HCAA Brian Grest. “To have this many teams attending the provincial championship is a testament to the dedication of our programs.”

Provincial action gets underway this Friday.
