Fr. Bernard (Archie George) Stauber 
November 29, 1939 – May 22, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Fr. Bernard (Archie) Stauber announces his passing on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the age of 84. Bernard will be missed and remembered by his older brother Gerald and sister-in-law Dorothy, niece Rhonda (Myles) Hemm and their children Tyler (Vicky and baby Ruby) and Jessica (Steve and baby Aubree), niece Maureen (Arnold) and sons children Cory and Dillon, and nephew Kevin and son Joe; younger brother David (Judy), nephew Chris and son Nick, nephew Brad and son Kayden, and niece Jill and daughter Jenna; and younger sister Colleen (Steve), niece Amanda (Jory) and their children Tobias and Veronia, niece Susan (Tim) and their children Matthew, Zachary, and Olivia, and nephew Daniel (Lauren) and girls Isla, Asali, and Sia.

Fr. Bernard was predeceased by his parents Frank and Annie.

Archie was born on the family farm near Pilger, SK, on November 29, 1939, to Frank and Annie (Schwingenschloegl) Stauber. He started his education at St. Bernard’s one room school and completed high school at St. Peter’s College. He then obtained an accounting degree, and finally he was called to the priesthood. Fr. Bernard spent the happiest and most fulfilling part of his life in Brazil for 25 years. The remainder of his career and retirement were in the Humboldt area, with his final years spent at St. Mary’s Villa. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Mary’s Villa for their care during Fr. Bernard’s stay.

A Prayer Service for Fr. Bernard was held on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. from Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home & Crematorium, Humboldt, celebrated by Fr. Colin Roy. A Funeral Mass was held on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. from St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, celebrated by Bishop Mark. Interment followed at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Pilger. Memorial donations in Fr. Bernard’s memory may be directed to St. Mary’s Villa Foundation or St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
