Frances Mathilda (nee Ilg) Mueller

The peaceful death of Frances Mathilda (nee Ilg) Mueller of Humboldt, SK, occurred at Humboldt District Hospital on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. She was 92 years of age. Frances was born on January 30, 1931, to Hubert and Mathilda (nee Kirschner) Ilg at home on their farm in the Willmont/Pilger district. She grew up there and attended school in the area. On June 15, 1948, Frances married Ralph Mueller in Canadian Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Middle Lake, SK. Together, they ran a mixed farm operation beside Lenore Lake, and raised a family of five, two sons and three daughters. In 1980, Frances and Ralph sold the farm and moved to Humboldt. Ralph passed away on February 20, 2005. Frances continued to live in their home. Over the years, she enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, doing puzzles, playing computer games, watching the cars and the people she called her “street friends” go by, cruising around on her scooter, and in earlier years, going for coffee at McDonald’s.
