On Sunday, the Battlefords RCMP Gang Task Force executed two search warrants at homes in North Battleford as part of a drug trafficking investigation. From these warrants, officers seized about 1,700 grams of meth, 28,000 illegal cigarettes, five firearms, ammunition, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Two people from North Battleford were arrested. Forty-four-year-old Shara Swindler is facing 16 charges including six counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and other firearms-related charges. Forty-seven-year-old Sheldon Johnstone is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and obstructing a peace officer.
