The Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils (OSAC) has long been supporting its regional and community member arts councils in bringing the finest quality entertainment to rural Saskatchewan. The provincial arts organization has just released its OSAC Performing Arts Tour Dates for the fall. It promises great entertainment for the communities of Watson, Watrous  and Wadena.

Watrous and area residents will be treated to the stylings of Brenda Lee Cottrell at a show on October 28 at the Watrous Civic Centre. Cottrell’s performances are dedicated to the timeless music of some of country and pop’s leading ladies. Her tributes to Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Brenda Lee, Sonny and Cher, among others, take audiences back in time in a heartfelt performance.

Watson and area patrons can look forward to a performance by Christine Tassan et les Impostueures on November 3 at the Watson Civic Centre. This quartet of amazingly talented string musicians pays homage to the frenetic Gypsy style of legendary guitarist and composer Django Reinhart, the artistry of Canadian singer-songwriter Félix Leclerc, and American swing composers. Their combination of humour and daring musicianship earns them acclaim wherever they go.

For a truly unique piano experience, Wadena and area music lovers can look forward to a stop by Duelling Pianos. This unique performing duo stole the show at Humboldt’s Summer Sizzler, and they bring their request based singer/piano virtuosity and encyclopedic knowledge of musical scores to the Wadena Community Legion Hall on October 1. They run the range of 50 years of pop, rock and country; from Gaga to Garth or Foo Fighters to Frank, they’ve got over 2000 amazing covers in their repertoire.

There are many more fall performances all across Saskatchewan in the coming months, thanks to OSAC sponsorship.  Details and links to tickets, along with recognition of the individual arts councils participating on the OSAC website.
