Lanigan has been busy raising funds and preparing for a new pool installation for the town and will start digging shortly.

A groundbreaking event will take place Thursday, June 23 at 5:00 pm.

“We will have a ribbon cutting ceremony and put a shovel in the ground, then contractors will roll into town soon after,” stated Chelsea Boyko, Waterpark Chair.

The project has been in the works for a long time, starting as a splash park in 2014, then forming into the pool project presented today.

The pool is expected to open by spring of 2023, but fundraising is still needed, stated Boyko.

“We’ve needed to do more fundraising due to costs, inflation on construction materials, so we are looking for any and all donations and sponsorships that we can find so we can cover all the extra expenses with construction costs.”

Upcoming fundraisers and updates on the pool can be found on the committee's Facebook Page.
