The Humboldt Hammerheads Swim Team was on the road this past weekend, taking in two swim meets in the northern part of the province.  Nipawin on Saturday and Watrous on Sunday played host to summer swim teams from across the province at their pools, hosting 118 and 102 swimmers respectively for their meets.

Twelve Hammerheads hit the water in Nipawin, braving some interesting-looking clouds in the morning.  Swimmers posted some personal best times, and some younger swimmers took on some new races that they had never tried before.  At the end of the day, 5 Hammerheads gathered enough points to bring home aggregate medals.

  • Kymer Eggerman earned Silver in 9-10 boys
  • Brooklyn Manz Bronze and Abbey McLarty Gold in 13-14 girls
  • Chase Hall Gold in 15-17 boys
  • Lauryn MacLean Gold in 18 & Over girls

Then Sunday, it was off to Watrous to participate in the second meet of the weekend.  The weather caused a couple of delays throughout the day, but once it cleared off, it was back into the water for more races.  By the end of the day, 8 Hammerheads were bringing home hardware from Watrous.

  • Paisley Hillestad won Bronze in 7-8 girls
  • Noah Zimmerman Silver in 9-10 boys
  • Aaden Kozar Bronze and Cohen Gasper Silver in 11-12 boys
  • Aidra Angelstad Silver in 13-14 girls
  • Liam Zimmerman Bronze in 13-14 boys
  • Cuyler Brooks Silver in 15-17 boys
  • Lauryn MacLean Gold in 18 & Over girls

Next up for the Hammerheads is the Northern Finals in Biggar on July 16.  This is the qualifying meet for Provincial Finals, where the top six from each race will qualify for the next meet.
