It was a more than successful outing for a pair of HCAA curling teams at this weekend’s regional competitions. The Wynyard Composite High School boys team showed their ice reading know-how as they went undefeated straight through the A side to capture their berth into provincials in Rosthern this coming weekend.

On the boys’ side, Wynyard’s first opponents played the toughest, but they handled Saskatoon Holy Cross 6-2. The boys stepped their game up against St. Mary’s from Prince Albert with a 9-1 win, and they wrapped up the A-side knocking off Shellbrook 10-0

The Watson Girls squad made all their hard work pay off as they dispatched their opposition in short order to an A-side victory. The girls shut out Ecole Canadienne Francaise 12-0 before levelling Carrot River 13-1. In their final game to secure their birth, the team again dominated, this time over Choiceland 15-1. The girls gave up only two ends through the weekend play.

Good luck to the HCAA curling teams on the road to provincials this weekend.
