The Horizon Central Athletic Association announced the recipients of the 2022 Kent Lessmeister Memorial Scholarship.

The Kent Lessmeister Memorial Scholarship was created by the HCAA in memory of the former member. The award goes towards two graduating students from schools within the HCAA who want to further their education in Saskatchewan in a sports-related field.

Gabryelle Lefebvre, a St. Brieux School graduate, and Ben Yungmann, a Humboldt Collegiate Institute graduate, received this year’s award.

A release by the HCAA states, “Gabryelle Lefebvre and Ben Yungmann both exemplify what Kent held dearly – staying active in school sports, strong leadership skills, sportsmanship, and role modeling within the school and the community.”

Lefebvre plans on attending the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Kinesiology (via St. Peter’s College in Muenster for the first year).

Ben plans to attend the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Kinesiology and hopes to pursue training in physiotherapy afterward.

The HCAA congratulated the recipients and wished them the best of luck in their future endeavours.
