Hilda Elizabeth Bader
December 4, 1929 – November 24, 2020

Hilda Elizabeth (née Nordick) Bader passed away at her Watson, SK, residence on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at the age of 90 years. As one of 12 children, Hilda was born December 4, 1929, to Henry and Mary Nordick. She attended Korbel School, south of Englefeld. On June 20, 1960, Hilda married the love of her life, Alexander Bader Jr. Together, they raised five daughters on their Romance area farm. In the early 1980s, Hilda and Alex moved into Watson, where Hilda lived until the Lord called her to him.

Hilda’s faith was very important to her, and she was a dedicated member of the CWL for many years.

Hilda had a great sense of humor. She was an accomplished seamstress and made most of her girls’ clothes when they were young. She enjoyed playing piano, listening to music and teaching her grandchildren to play the piano. Freddy Fender was her favorite artist. Her favorite songs were Roses are Blooming and Ave Maria. Hilda was an excellent dancer and loved to dance. She enjoyed watching the Lawrence Welk Show and later, Dancing With The Stars.

Hilda was very knowledgeable about fish and had fish tanks for many years. She also had a green thumb. She loved gardening and spending time on her deck where she enjoyed barbeques, visiting over a glass of wine, admiring her beautiful flower garden, watching the birds come and go as they built their nests, and watching the babies learn to fly. You could always tell which house on the block belonged to Hilda by the many flowers that hung on the wall beside the front door. Hilda loved to cook and try new recipes.

Hilda was such a beautiful woman and was always well dressed, but the most beautiful thing about her, was her loving heart and soul.

Hilda was predeceased by her husband Alex; parents Henry and Mary Nordick; siblings Sonny, Maria, Ila, Annette, Dennis, and Dwaine Nordick, and Elsie Bader; grandson Bradley Nazar; and special friend Otto Huszar. Hilda’s brother Edward Nordick passed away following her death.

Hilda is lovingly remembered by her children: Kathleen Brown, Rosemary (Richard) Nazar, Karen Bader (Kevin Dahl), Carol (Glen) Paetsch, and Loriann (Kim) Bodnard; grandchildren Chad, Brittany and Rachelle Nazar, Dylan (Jamie) Paetsch; great-grandson Brantley Paetsch; and by her siblings Agnes Jacobs, Ronald (Karen) Nordick and Henrietta Murray.
